However, how do you choose that first color? If your page has a holiday theme, that might be easy, but in all other cases look at your photographs for a cue. If your subject matter has bright blue eyes, for example, use blue papers that will showcase this. Also try to pick colors that will complement the idea behind the pictures-a child's birthday party will probably look better with bright colors than natural browns and greens. Of these, the easiest to do are usually the ear and the nose. The ear is a complicated thing in appearance to be sure, but excepting for its size and general set and shape there is nothing very individual about it; normally we pay little attention to the ears of even our closest friends unless there is something radically distinctive about them.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;For that matter, the ear is often wholly or partially hidden by the hair, or viewed in shadow or in a greatly foreshortened position. An important point in doing the nose is to avoid the all-too-common effect (in work of the beginner) that it is plastered on to the face and has little relationship to it. Make it look like part of the head, for it is. Artists differ in their feeling toward the eye. Many - perhaps a majority - speak of it as the most expressive of all the features.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;Some, however, point out that although the eyeball itself has a quality of mobility and animation which the painter should strive to catch, the individuality and expressiveness of the eye come less from the eyeball - for eyeballs look much alike - than from the flexible muscles of the forehead and eyebrows, the type and position of the lid, and the surrounding network of wrinkles, in particular those at the outer eye corner and across the bridge of the nose.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;But don't overdo these details - one can paint a perfect likeness with the eyes almost lost in the general tone of the eye socket.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;It is the mouth which is the truly sensitive thing. It is seldom twice alike, for under normal conditions it records instantly every change of inward thought or feeling. There are times when the shifting of the lines of the mouth by scarcely more than a hairbreadth will alter one's entire appearance. Therefore, the painter must observe his sitter's mouth keenly, recording with fidelity what he thinks to be its most significant expression.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;But it is pointless to write much of such features. The main thing is to paint them all with restraint, remembering that they are but parts of a whole. Yet they are not separate parts, each complete in itself, but they form, together with the cheeks, the chin - the whole head, in fact - a homogeneous mass which must be painted as a unit. The framework is made of wood 2 inch x 2 inch and the main board is 36 inch x 16 inch The whole stand could be made smaller or larger, according to your own requirements.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;You will see from the picture of the back view illustrated that the stand is adjustable on the deck-chair principle. This particular model can be used at three different angles. The hinges on the supporting frame should be of a heavy type and not less than 2 inch in width as they will have to stand up to a good deal of vibration.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;The wood of the main board should be at least 1 in. in thickness. The wood to be carved can be fixed on by bench screws, 'G' cramps, or by ordinary screws. This stand can be easily bolted down to the bench. The advantage of a sloping stand is that you can stand upright to carve and step back to see your work.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;Other methods of fixing a panelIf you want your work flat on the bench, and many carvers do, it is an easy matter to fix the panel. Bench screws can be used (see Fig. 9). The length of these can be varied by interposing a block of wood between the wing nut and the underside of the bench. You can also fix a frame of wood around your carving and drive in a few wooden wedges to hold it tight (Fig. 37). Unfortunately Estes bought the assets of Sterling and the Missouri is not currently available. I hate to think what one might run on EBay. About the only option today would be a plastic model and about the biggest is 1/350th. Tamiya has a good kit, but if you want wood you will pretty much be out of luck.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;While I have seen some hand painted models it is a skill I have never been able to develop. Most really bang up jobs are done with airbrush. For that I would recommend a Paasche model "H". It is good, durable airbrush that is packaged with three different tips. It is cheaper than an Iwata, though some Hobby Lobby stores carry both and you can usually score one during Hobby Lobby's 40% of sales.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;Acrylic paints are something that I have not gotten into and do not know much about. The advantage is that you do not have to use special thinners. Some modelers use Windex to thin. My experience is mainly with enamels. I have a friend that uses finger nail polish thinned with lacquer thinner on his cars, as he likes the range of colors and fine grain of the metallic/metal flake ones.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;You do not have to have a compressor, some people prefer to use a CO2 bottle, but that seems somewhat expensive. Some of the discount tool companies (like Harbor Freight) stock inexpensive compressors. Probably the most import thing to a good finish is good surface preparation. In other words a good clean. Smooth surface. As I have gotten older I have developed a tendency to prime the surface and after that dries well to sand it with very fine grit paper. Try 3200, 2500, in that range.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;Afterwards I wash it and allow it to dry thoroughly. Thinning the paint is an art, not a science. That is something you just have to experiment with.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;The best (smoothest) finish should be obtained by applying a good color coat first. After that has dried well you can polish out any irregularities with fine grit sand paper (2000, 3200, something of that order.). If additional coats are needed you can apply them lightly afterwards. I would wait for clear coat until the finish is blemish free. If you are using gloss paint for the color coats make sure that the coats are thoroughly dry between coats. Sometimes that might take a day or two. A trick that a friend uses for his funny car models is to use finger nail polish as it dries very smooth.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;I have managed to get fairly smooth finishes by polishing the surface prior to my first coat and building up the paint in light layers. I also sometimes use flat paints and a final gloss coat that usually results in a smooth finish. There really is not a science to good paint finish; it is more of an art that each person develops on their own.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;I am not sure what scale architectural models are build to, but 1:200 does not equate to inches very well. 1/48th works out to 1/4-inch equals 1 foot, and 1/72 equal 1/6 to one foot. The scale should be divisible by 12 (i.e. 1/144th scale would be 144 divided by 12 which gives 1/12 of an inch equals one foot). You could always go with 1/192 (1/16 of an inch equals one foot), which is a popular scale for ship models. Another choice would be use metric where 1/200th would work fine.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;As far as materials you have a good choice. There is always the old standby: balsa wood. Balsa is light and easy to cut. A better choice might be plastics, in which case I would recommend using plastic from Evergreen Scale Models. That company produces a wide variety of shapes (sheet plastic, I beams, corrugated, etc.). Plastic also produces plastic in many construction type shapes.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;Three possibilities come to mind. One is the old standby balsa wood. Balsa is fairly cheap and easy to work with. Several glues can be used with balsa: Elmer's, wood glue, super glue and even an adhesive that is used it wooden model construction. Balsa can be cut with an Exacta knife, or razor blade using a straight edge for straight lines. Sheet plastic is the second material.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;Super glues, or solvent type glues work fairly well and plastic is very easy to cut in straight lines, you need only score it with the blade and then snap it along the line. The third possibility is solid foam like that used in insulation. The first two are available at any hobby shop and the foam is available at a hardware store. All three are designed to separate, with little success of learning to fly RC. The only thing wrong with them is that the radio is not really reusable, since the majority of planes you'll be dealing with in the future require at least three channels. They do not come with quick chargers so you'll have to get several more batteries and then charge them at home. All three really don't fly very well, and actually take an "expert" to get them to fly.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;I would highly recommend that you save your money and purchase something that will work. My recommendation is the Multiplex Easy Star. It comes with a good Hitec 3-channel transmitter, two mini-servos, receiver and electronic speed control already installed. It also comes with a quick charger to recharge the battery in about 1/2 an hour. Once again I'd recommend that you purchase at least one extra battery.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;A brushless motor from the major manufacturer will insure a quality motor that will be up to putting out the power. Motors do not ensure long flights, the capacity of the battery does. Batteries with the longest flight times and lowest weight are called lithium polymer and are available. Choosing the right one is up to you.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;Designing, building and flying scale model planes are a lot of fun, as you have found out. I would suggest that you start with a fairly simple type single engine as your first scale project. You'll find a series of books from Harry Higley very useful. Model Airplane News and Radio Control Modeler also have useful books.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;Bookstores and hobby shops carry publications about specific planes with 3-views, colors and markings. Actually, I got 95% of the information on my latest design, including views, from the Internet. I did purchase a plastic model of it to help envision the design in 3 dimensions. What you need to do is become better at building with experience and patience. Many great models are designed and built using simple tools, but by a person with a lot of experience and a passion for that model and doing it right. The more you build, the better builder you will become.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;All that a matter right now is how you think your plane should look. You can always work your way up. Some of the neatest models have come from many that start out when they were young. They have all learned patience and have gotten their experience from all the time that they spend building model planes. They learned from all their mistakes. Memories of exciting dogfights between German Me 109s and Spitfires inspired aeromodellers to build balsa wood control line scale models of these and other fighter planes of WW II era.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;A model plane with wingspans ranging from 36 inches and above powered generally by a 1.5cc to 2.5cc engine, using wire control line, which controlled the ailerons would be flown by two 'combat pilots' standing next to each other. Each 'pilot' maneuvered his aircraft to get behind his opponent's plane to cut off as much of the streamer as possible. The 'pilots' developed skills to maneuver their aircraft using every tactic as in the normal combat flying, to get into position to hack his opponents streamer. Besides growing exponentially, control line has given way to radio controlled models. Combat Clubs can be found in almost every country and almost every aeromodelling club has specialists in 'combat flying'. Rules and regulations have been framed, to make competitiveness fair. Categories of 'combat flying' have become more stringent, depending on the experience of the flier, the size of the aircraft intended for the 'combat'. Accordingly, power of the engine, pitch of the propeller, weight of the airplane and in instances, even the shape of the fuselage, are considered. There are no limitations on the wingspan in this category, but the wing area should be 400 square inches. For one thing, the inexpensive electric helicopters are very difficult to fly in the wind. Yes you can buy a pretty good one for around $200. The CX is the easiest to learn to fly as compared to the CP and the equivalent, but all helicopters, fuel powered or electric, are difficult to teach yourself to fly. Chances are good you will break many parts in the learning process and most likely give up after spending too many hours fixing, practicing and/or tons of money in the learning process. Hate to discourage you, but this is the reality of RC helicopters.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;People seem to think because the helicopters are electric and cheap; it will make it easier to learn how to fly. I've trained something on the order of 300 people to hover and fly helicopters over the years and I know for a fact that is the safest, easiest and cheapest way to learn.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;Fuel powered helicopters are difficult to learn to hover and fly, small electric helicopters are even harder and the tiny ones are worse. You will need a large open area to practice hovering and even then, chances are you will break things. This is something you will unfortunately find out after you spent quite a bit of money on your helicopters and replacement parts.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;If you haven't already, tried installing a new and/or different type of glow plug. It is possibly there is a hole in your fuel line inside of your tank where the fuel line is attached to the metal pick up. That would cause it to stall when the tank is half empty. The engine might be overheating due to the lean mixture caused by the possible split fuel line. There are so many electric helicopters out there and it depends on what you consider is too expensive.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;Save your $100 because buying those helicopters would be a total waste of money. As the saying goes, you only get what you pay for. The same goes for the cheapest electric ARF airplanes. You will need a proper trainer airplane, and any RC warplane is well beyond any beginner's abilities.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;Learning to fly RC airplanes is something that is possible to learn on your own, but definitely not recommended. If you ever get a chance to find a club or an experienced flier who will let you fly a proper trainer, then you will see what I'm talking about. I believe collective helicopters are easier to fly than fixed pitched helicopters. You are correct about the CP. The small electric helicopters are for the most part are harder to fly than fuel powered helicopters.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;There are several different people who are considered to be the inventor of the helicopter. I could write a book explaining it in detail, but I'll cover a couple of the primary contributors to the development of rotary wing aircraft. The ancient Chinese invented a toy for children that you can still see today. It consists of a propeller and a shaft through the middle of it. If you spin it quickly in your hands or with some other force such as a rubber band you could make it lift up and hover briefly before coming back to the ground.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;The first recorded depiction of a possible manned helicopter is a diagram drawn by Leonardo da Vinci in the 1400s. The knowledge of physics necessary to successfully build a working model did not yet exist, but he understood the concept of an "air screw" that if turned fast enough would be able to drive the machine and a pilot into the air.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;Over the course of the next few centuries many other people toyed with the idea of a helicopter, but again the amount of power necessary to drive such a machine into the air was not possible to generate. The invention of the internal combustion engine made the power requirement a reality. The next hurdle that needed to be overcome was the concept of torque - the phenomenon that causes the body of the helicopter to spin in the opposite direction of the main rotor.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;Paul Cornu invented a working piloted helicopter in 1907, but it was not a successful design. It only generated enough lift for about 7 seconds. Another Frenchman, Etienne Oehmichen built and flew a working helicopter for about 1 kilometer in 1924.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;As early as 1910, Russian born Igor Sikorsky began working on development of a manned helicopter. By 1940, his working design had become the model for all modern helicopters. It consisted of a main rotor and a tail rotor that is used to counteract the torque generated by the main rotor. CA adhesives come in different thicknesses or viscosity and in different formulations according to the material it is to be used on. That's the hazard as we all get used to their 'wonderglue' properties and expect them to stick just about anything.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;In fact, for greatest effectiveness most adhesives are specifically formulated to stick a particular material. So be careful to use the right one as the wrong choice can either be ineffective or worse, literally melt whatever you are working on. If that is a model that has already occupied many hours of your time you are not going to be very happy! Follow the model manufacturers' recommendations about the type of adhesive to use or if there are no recommendations available then your local hobby shop should be able to help.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;Modeling club mates can also be invaluable as sources of advice - even if for nothing other than to tell you what not to use based on their own sorry experience. Alternatively, spend a little time researching on the internet (just put adhesive +[the material you are sticking] into your favourite search engine. Adhesive manufacturers are these days providing more technical information about their products and the best way to use them. If in any doubt follow that old standby rule and 'test on a small area first'.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;CA comes in different viscosities. The thinnest viscosity of CA is excellent for gluing balsa, that most traditional of modeling materials, as the very thin glue can be applied to the edge of the join and will penetrate both the join and the surrounding balsa wood to create a strong bond. The downside of this very thin viscosity is that it cures or 'goes off' very quickly, literally in seconds.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;If you are really in a hurry then an 'accelerator' or 'kicker' will speed up the curing of the top surface of the adhesive instantly and then progressively cure the remainder. Alternatively, apply CA to one surface and spray kicker on the other before mating them together for a really fast bond. This is useful when making running repairs out at the flying field.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;The hazard of all this miraculous sticking power is when it all goes wrong and you end up with adhesive in places you never intended it to reach, leaving you glued to your own model, the table or anywhere else you put your hands. That's when debonders come in useful as they can remove cured CA glues from skin, work surfaces, most plastics and model finishes. Naturally, it is best to have these at hand as it is too late to go trotting down the model shop to buy some when you are already glued to the kitchen table.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;For more substantial joins, epoxy resins come as two part adhesives, one part resin and one part hardener that have to be mixed to become active. Vibration resistant and fuel proof, epoxy is perfect for modelers dealing with engines for fire wall and engine mount installations, and for attaching bulkheads and formers in epoxy glass fuselages. It comes with different curing times for example; 5 min, 30 min or 1 hr which are used according the result required. Since epoxies cure by an exothermic chemical reaction, meaning that means they give off heat, and heat can speed the cure of epoxy, mixing more than you need can result in it hardening and becoming unworkable before you have had the chance to use it.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;Finishing resin is a light weight, two part, epoxy laminating / finishing type resin used when fiber-glassing. It can also be used to seal all engine and fuel tank areas and is absolutely the best for sheeting foam wing panels for aeromodellers. It will bond to itself and does not get brittle with age. But like cyano, you must use the right formulation produced specifically for use with foam. Many finishing resins will just eat up a foam wing. Finishing resin can also be used to seal and prepare all types of wood projects for painting. Finishing resin will penetrate into porous wood, so several applications may be required to fill and level the surface.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;Windows in models, whether they be airplane cockpit windows, car or speedboat windscreens can easily be spoiled by using inappropriate adhesives on the clear Perspex canopies and windscreens. There are special canopy glues available for these applications which are just another formulation with the advantage that they dry clear and transparent. So don't go spoiling your creation for want of a little extra investment in the right adhesive.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10pt;"  &gt;These days there is an adhesive for every task. Despite the great diversity of modern adhesives you will quickly find the smaller range appropriate to your own craft, hobby or modelling requirement. You will find a favourite manufacturer and quickly develop your own expertise in its use. It is quite fascinating to watch these little toys perform  aerobatics with their noisy engines screeching and screaming in the sky. Most of  us wish that we could be flying aeromodels like those, but just sigh - It's not  for me. It happens only in rich developed countries abroad. Can I afford to make  these aeromodels and do I have the right skills? Friends, you will be pleasantly  surprised to know that aeromodelling opportunities are available right, it is  not as difficult as you might think.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;"&gt;    Most people are just not aware of  this hobby of aeromodelling while a few enthusiasts might have had initial  failures. Others might have been put off by the heavy price tags of foreign  models sometimes seen in expensive shops. Aeromodelling is the art of making  miniature aircraft models that look and fly like real aircrafts. It is a  combination of craft, a bit of engineering expertise, coupled with creative  imagination, which produces "Those men and their magnificent flying machines".  To get started you need to get a proper orientation; then you can read on  further, experiment yourself and get some tips of the "do's and don'ts" from me  or other aeromodellers.
